WelcomeThe warm weather and black flies are finally coming to New Hampshire so it must be summer. I wanted to update you as to some of the changes that have taken place with the NHLI. We are still waiting for the PI bill that's before the legislature to be passed and signed by the Governor. This piece of legislation has been a long time coming and will professionize our profession as it should be. While we understand that not everyone agrees with every aspect of this bill, it gives us a position to improve upon and to add benefits to our profession of being NH's Private Investigators. We are planning on a joint meeting in June with our Vermont counterparts in Lebanon. This was a meeting that was always part of the calendar for both associations in years gone by and has been resurrected. It will give us an opportunity to meet with our friends to the west and also our own members. This is a great networking opportunity for all concerned. The website is an ongoing process and we hope everyone will check out their information and update it. People come to the website to find an investigator, so the information is very important to both you and your prospective clients. We are preparing a calendar which will be a work in progress with changes being made in a timely fashion. If you have an item that you think is important for the membership, please send it along and we'll get it posted. Keep checking the calendar yourself to keep up to date on association news, training sessions and other related information. In the fall we will be presenting Jimmie Mesis's program on "Marketing for PI's." This is a great training which will give us new ideas to market ourselves and get the word out for new clients. While many of us have relied on word of mouth advertising in the past, with this training session we will learn how to get the word out properly. Remember, we are professional investigators -- but we are also professional business people as well. Have a great summer, be safe and hope to see you soon. Butch Estey, President There will be a joint meeting of the New Hampshire and Vermont PI associations taking place in Lebanon, NH on June 30th. More info to follow but I wanted to give everyone enough notice to set your schedules. This joint meeting was common place in years past and we are trying to bring it back. This will be a great opportunity to meet our Vermont counterparts and establish relationships. There will be presentations by NCISS and ISPLA regarding their services and what is taking place in Washington that will directly affect our profession.
